Chapter Twenty-Eight - Chase
Where is she? my wolf asked.
My fingertips searched the satin sheets for her but only the cool fabric greeted me. My wolf was more worried about Willow’s whereabouts than I was at the moment.
After the night before, I couldn’t drag my body up any quicker. We’d run through the forest looking for a ghost. Willow seemed to think it was her father, and I understood why.
I wasn’t completely convinced this had been him. Maybe he’d slipped out for a while to see a she-wolf. I hadn’t mentioned that to Willow, because I didn’t know how she would take it. Seeing her mother's death had taken up so much of her life, I wasn't sure her father moving on would be acceptable to her.
I sat up in my bed and rubbed the sleep out of my eyes with the heels of my palms.
The sun was higher than I imagined it to be.
After our run and a few hours of sleep, Willow had woken me up with another round of heat. My body was aching from the lack of sleep and my need for a complete night of it.
Her scent wasn’t
