Walking Into The Trap

Standing in front of the towering building of D.S Corporations, Savannah Lea felt her legs going weak. Today was the day of her internship interview. Her grades were excellent and there should be nothing to worry about. But now, she had lost her confidence! After all, she was involved in an unspeakable relationship with the President of the company. "Forget it. I'll give it a try since I'm already here. If I can't make it, then I'll just forget about it!" Savannah thought. After entering the building, Savannah realized that her worries were completely unnecessary. D.S Corporations was such a large public listed corporation, with such wide industrial coverage, the President must be extremely busy. How could he have time to pay attention to small things like an intern's interview, right? To put this in a nice way, people would say that she must have just been overly worried, or, she was just overestimating her importance. Soon enough, Savannah left her worries behind. She completed the interview extraordinarily. The interviewer was so impressed that he nodded and smiled at her! With excellent results and an amazing interview performance, Savannah was very confident about the internship opportunity. Savannah, walking out of D.S Corporations with a smile on her face, would never have thought that in the meantime, her resume was actually on the desk of the President. Callan Handerson held Savannah's resume with one hand and fixed his eyes on the two-inch photo on the resume. He couldn't help but display a smile on his face when he looked at her. "What position did she apply for?" Callan asked. "An internship in the design department." Nick Jonah replied respectfully. Callan nodded. Since she was a Liam student in the Department of Architectural Design, it was indeed time for her to apply for an internship. With her results, it would not be a problem for the design department to accept her. However, President Handerson's eyes squinted, some kind of evil intention surged within him. "Little girl, you are walking into your own trap. So, you can't really blame me!" "Nick, call the HR department and ask her to come to work next Monday!" ...... "Ah, ah, ah!" The same day afternoon, Savannah received a phone call from the HR department of D.S. Corporations saying that she had passed the interview and asked her to report to the company on Monday! Savannah was madly happy and couldn't stop screaming while holding her mobile phone! "It's real! It's real!" Danica Rein patted her and said, "That's enough, isn't it?" "D.S Corporations! Babe, I'm so happy! I'm accepted! I can't believe it! Do you know how difficult it is to enter this company? There are only five positions in total. I heard that D.S Corporations doesn't like to recruit fresh graduates, but I'm accepted! If I perform well, I can be promoted to be a full-time employee when I graduate, and I can be a proud and good grandaughter to grandma! Ah! I'm so happy!" Savannah ran excitedly to announce this news, and of course, she didn't forget to call her grandma to inform her about it! Danica shook her head and said in a coy tone, "She is indeed crazy." For the rest of the week, Savannah did nothing but tried to cram and learn everything about D.S Corporations. She found out that Callan Handerson was actually really impressive! D. S Corporations was on the verge of closing down ten years ago, but he spent ten years making it grow from a company that was on the verge of bankruptcy to a huge business empire today! This person was simply a genius! Looking at Callan's photo on the computer screen, Savannah could not help but reach out and gently touched it. Thinking of the 'relationship' she had with him, she sighed with emotion. It was probably not a loss for her to have that kind of relationship with him. Before going to bed, Savannah received a message from Liam Quentin that read, "Savannah, are you still angry? It was my fault that day. I shouldn't have kissed you all of a sudden. I really love you." "Phew!" Savannah breathed a sigh of relief and ignored the text message. After setting herself an alarm, she threw the mobile phone aside and fell asleep with her pillow... Tomorrow would be a brand new beginning! ...... On Monday morning, Savannah Lea wore a snow-white shirt and a black pencil skirt, with a ponytail. She stood politely at the door of the D.S Corporations' HR department. "Come with me!" A middle-aged woman in her forties looked at Savannah thoroughly and said to her. "Oh, okay," Savannah replied. Savannah wanted to say more, but she felt that this woman didn't like her. She was cold and kept people at an arm's length, so Savannah just kept quiet. The elevator continued to rise to the top floor, which was obviously much quieter than the lower floor. There were fewer employees, and they didn't have to wear uniforms... These were the benefits of being Liam management! Wait, Savannah was a little confused. Why would she, a little intern, be brought to the top floor? "Hurry up!" The middle-aged woman said. The middle-aged woman of the HR department urged her, and Savannah hurried to follow her. The woman led Savannah all the way, and Savannah did not have the courage to ask more. She lowered her head slightly and followed closely behind. Eventually, she was brought to a door. The woman knocked on the door and led Savannah in. It was like another world inside. There was a row of work table outside, with staff members sitting alongside it. There was also a door not far away... It should be another office. "Oh Sandy, you're here?" A voice spoke. "Yes, I've brought her with me. I'll leave her to you." Sandy winked at Savannah. Savannah immediately stepped forward and smiled sweetly at the staff who received her. "Hello, Liam. I'm Savannah Lea. I'm the new intern reporting for work today. It's my pleasure to meet you and I hope you can teach me what I need to learn." "Oh I'm afraid I can't really be of much help. I'm just hoping that you will take care of me when you've reached the top of the ladder." Savannah was confused by what was said. She didn't understand what it meant, so she just smiled and followed the lead to the office. The staff member pressed the doorbell and said to Savannah, "Please go in. The President has asked for you to enter his office. There's no need to ask in advance." What? President? Savannah was very scared. This was the President's office? Why would she be brought here? She obviously applied for an internship in the design department. Wait, the President? Wasn't the President, Callan Handerson? All of a sudden, Savannah wanted to burst into tears. She had no choice but to force herself into the room. Callan was, however, not alone in the room. "President, why? What's with me that you're not satisfied with? You can tell me, I'll change and improve." It was a woman who spoke. Her back was against the door, and her face could not be seen. But her back was very slim, and whenever she moved, her figure was filled with charm and elegance. Savannah did not understand what the woman was talking about. She only heard Callan rejecting the woman in a low voice." It's done, let's not talk about it anymore. It's settled. With your capabilities, you're overqualified to just be a secretary away." As he spoke, Callan looked past the woman and his gaze stopped on Savannah's face, there was a smile in the corner of his eyes... She has arrived. "Alright, you can go now!" Callan said blandly to the woman. The woman's face turned really pale. She swallowed the rejection and seemed to have something to say, but did not have the courage to say more. She turned around and looked at Savannah. For some reason, she glared at Savannah fiercely.
