Marian had read Joseph's file long before he became a traitor and she was able to remember it despite only reading it once. Joseph studied how to be a contortionist since he was a child. He could bend and shrink his body into very surprising sizes. When Joseph stole the chip he heavily relied on this trick to steal the chip and escape. Joseph knew trouble was coming when he heard someone was fighting a couple of regulars. He chose to hide for the first time, but he never expected that his boss would come in person. If someone else came, he would've been able to fight them to the death. After all, he betrayed his boss and the organization, he would die if he was caught. But when he found out that it was Marian, he gave up thinking and surrendered obediently. No one could escape under the chase of his boss, if he tried he would be caught and he would experience a fate much worse than death.
