A necklace glittered with tiny silver stars, each one catching the light like a captured wish.
The chain ended in a pendant – a crescent moon cradling a sleeping sun, its golden face etched with a tiny, cheeky grin.
Beside it, nestled like baby ducks, were a pair of earrings that weren’t your average dangly diamonds.
These were miniature works of art – two graceful swans, their necks intertwined, their silver feathers catching the light like moonlight on water.
Miriam, overcome by the beauty, held the earrings up to the light. ‘Look, Alfred, Dashiell! Isn’t it just…’ she sputtered, unable to find the words. ‘Ellie remembered my spirit animal. Look at these swans! They’re absolutely stunning!’
