Chapter 27: Mommy, I'm Cherub
Cherub's eyes were red, clearly hurt.
"Apologize right away, or I'll find your parents!" the boy's parent demanded.
"I won't apologize. He insulted me, saying I don't have a Mommy," Cherub angrily replied.
"What's wrong with you, kid? Even if he said that, you can't resort to violence. My son is usually well-liked; why would he pick on you? It must be you who started the provocation," the boy's parent argued.
Isolated and with fingers tightly clenched, Cherub felt overwhelmed and wronged.
Austin, who was talking to the teacher, heard the commotion ahead. Seeing Cherub standing there with teary eyes, receiving blame from others, he ended the conversation with the teacher and hurried over.
"What happened?" Austin asked.
The boy's parent defended their position, "This is your child. Look at what he's done to my son. Instead of learning good behavior, he's picking fights."
The crying boy continued to sob, making the situation frustrating. Austin lowered his gaze and asked Cherub, "
