CHAPTER FOUR HUNDRED AND FIFTY ONE – CASTILLO’S THREATS
There was a pause on the other end of the line. When Don Cesaro spoke, his voice was weary. "Jasmine, my dear, what is it now?"
Quickly, Jasmine relayed what she had overheard. "Don Cesaro, I think Castillo is planning something big. Something that could put all of us in danger."
She waited for his response, expecting alarm, maybe even a plan of action. Instead, what she got was a heavy sigh.
"Jasmine," Don Cesaro said, his tone patronizing, "I understand your concerns. But we cannot afford to antagonize Castillo right now. Our focus must be on keeping him satisfied, diverting his attention from any... unfortunate incidents."
Jasmine felt her heart sink. "But Don Cesaro, if he's meeting with the Sinaloa cartel-"
"Enough," Don Cesaro cut her off. "You've done well to bring this to my attention, but I'll handle it from here. Focus on running the Bistro, Jasmine. That's your job."
