"Ladies and gentlemen of the jury," she began, her voice ringing out in the hushed room. "My client, Vincent Carrera, is the victim of a vicious smear campaign orchestrated by the Cesaro family. They have accused him of theft, of sabotage, of criminal activities - all without a shred of concrete evidence. These baseless accusations have destroyed Mr. Carrera's reputation and livelihood."
Jasmine watched as Hawkins painted a picture of Vincent as an honest businessman, targeted by a powerful family threatened by fair competition. It was a compelling narrative, and she could see some jurors nodding along.
When it was their turn, the Cesaro family's lawyer, Michael Stern, approached the jury.
"The defense would have you believe that Vincent Carrera is an innocent victim," he said, his voice calm but forceful. "But the evidence will show a very different story. A story of calculated sabotage, of underhanded tactics, and of a man willing to go to any lengths to destroy his competition."
