CHAPTER THREE HUNDRED AND SIXTY TWO – THE FAMILY IS AT WAR
The early morning sun cast long shadows across the empty tables of Cesaro's Bistro as Jasmine unlocked the front door. The familiar scent of fresh coffee and baked goods greeted her as she stepped inside, flicking on the lights.
"Good morning, Cesaro's," she murmured to herself, a habit she'd developed over the past few months.
As she made her way to the office, her heels clicking on the polished floor, Jasmine's mind wandered to Marco. It had been three days since she'd last seen him, and the secrecy of their relationship was starting to wear on her.
Pushing open the office door, Jasmine froze. There, in the center of her meticulously organized desk, lay a crisp white envelope. Her name was scrawled across it in Don Cesaro's distinctive handwriting.
"What now?" she whispered, reaching for the envelope with trembling fingers.
The paper crinkled as she unfolded the note inside:
"Jasmine, Your presence is required immediately at the main house. Urgent family matter.
Don Cesaro"
