CHAPTER THREE HUNDRED AND TWENTY – ANIMAL ATTACK
Jasmine sagged with relief, her heart pounding. "That was... intense," she managed.
Marco nodded, extinguishing the torch. "Are you okay? They didn't hurt you, did they?"
Jasmine shook her head, but as she moved, she winced. Looking down, she noticed a small cut on her leg, likely from brushing against a sharp rock in the commotion.
"It's just a scratch," she assured Marco, who was looking at her with concern.
"Even so, we should clean it," he insisted. "We don't want it getting infected out here."
As if on cue, a structure loomed out of the darkness ahead of them. As they approached, they realized it was an old, abandoned shack.
"We can rest here for the night," Marco said, pushing open the creaky door.
The interior was dusty and bare, but it offered shelter from the elements and any lingering predators. Marco found an old crate that would serve as a makeshift seat.
"Sit down," he instructed Jasmine. "Let me take a look at that cut."
