CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY THREE – CHANDLER’S DOWNFALL
Jasmine's heart pounded as she and Gordon faced off against Harold Chandler in the dimly lit warehouse. The stolen art pieces were stacked around them, a fortune in canvases and sculptures.
"It's over, Chandler," Gordon growled, his gun trained on the wealthy investor. "We know you were behind the heist."
Chandler smiled coldly. "You have no proof. This is just circumstantial."
"We have all the proof we need," Jasmine shot back. Her eyes narrowed as she studied the smug man. "Why, Chandler? Why steal my work?"
Chandler shrugged elegantly. "It's what I do, my dear. I acquire...difficult to obtain pieces for my collection. Your work was a particular prize."
"You're a thief and a criminal," Gordon spat.
"Sticks and stones." Chandler tsked. "But I grow bored of this game. Relinquish your weapons and we can discuss--"
The warehouse door burst open with a thunderous bang. "Freeze! NYPD!"
