Chapter 84: The Confrontation
The sun had started to dip low in the sky, stretching out across the park bench Olivia sat on, her fingers highly sensitive and nervous, tracing the grain of the worn wood. She had picked this spot thoughtfully—a public place, neutral ground where three of them could meet with a minimal amount of unwanted emotion.
Olivia's pulse sped up as she watched Nathan coming toward her from one end and Mark from the other. The two men locked gazes, flashing tension at each other before finally looking over at her.
"Olivia," Nathan said softly, reaching her first. His hand twitched as if to touch her, but he stopped.
"Liv," Mark's voice was firm, but she could see what it cost him in his eyes.
Olivia sucked in a deep breath, bracing herself for what was to come. "Thank you both for coming. I think. I think it's time we cleared the air. All of us."
She waved for them to take a seat, Nathan sitting beside her on the bench while Mark remained standing, his posture taut.
