Chapter 108: Olivia's Turmoil
The canvas in front of Olivia doggedly remained blank—a brilliant white sprawl that seemed to mock the emotions of her churning insides. Her paintbrush hovered uncertainly—poised to create but frozen by the tornado raging in her head. Olivia finally sighed in frustration, put the brush down, and promptly sent droplets of bright blue to mix with the old, paint-stained stains on her jeans.
Her studio had always been the sanctuary for Olivia, a place of normalcy and safety where the world expected nothing from her, and now it was this tiny room that was trying so hard to swallow her whole. The walls seemed to close in on her, plastered with memories and questions of what if. The door clicked shut, and her eyes flicked to a corner sketch, curated and achingly perfect: Nathan's profile, sketched years ago when love was young and easy. Right next to him was a newer painting of Alex, the warmth of his smile almost radiating from the canvas.
