CHAPTER 31 AUTUMN LEAVES
The time after the birthday appeared to be filled with classes, study sessions and Environmental club meetings, and it went by very quickly. The next thing she realized, trees on campus had turned to different colors, and the fallen leaves were golden, reddish or orange in color.
It was a bright, cool Saturday morning in early November, and Jenna was crossing the quad with her arms full of books and her head full of an impending Environmental Policy presentation. If she had not been very much absorbed in her reflections, she would have failed to notice the figure leaning against a tree not far from her.
“Ryan?” she said and at the sound of her voice he turned around and smiled at her which she was always fond of.
”Surprise,” he said, leaned against the tree and in the next moment closed the distance. He took the burden off her thin shoulders and pecked her on the cheek. “I wanted to come up for the weekend,” I said quietly, “You looked like you needed it. ”
