CHAPTER SIXTY EIGHT – SOMEONE’S STEALING AGAIN
The next morning, Rebecca arrived at the café earlier than usual, her mind still grappling with the revelations of the previous day. As she tied her apron and began preparing for the day's customers, she noticed an unusual tension in the air.
Zaya, her fellow waitress and friend, approached with a worried expression. "Rebecca, have you heard? Someone's been stealing from the café."
Rebecca's eyebrows shot up. "Stealing? What do you mean?"
Zaya lowered her voice. "It started with small things – a few pastries here and there, some cash from the register. But now it's escalating. Last night, an entire shipment of premium coffee beans went missing."
"That's terrible," Rebecca gasped. "Does Luca know?"
Zaya nodded grimly. "Oh, he knows alright. And let me tell you, he's not happy. I've never seen him so... intense."
As if on cue, Luca strode into the café, his usual easy-going demeanor replaced by a tightly controlled anger. He beckoned for all the staff to gather around.
