"This is good work, both of you. But now, you need sleep. I'll coordinate with Matteo and our security team. We'll have a full briefing this afternoon."
Reluctantly, Rebecca agreed. As she gathered her things to head home, she couldn't shake the feeling that they were on the verge of a breakthrough.
Over the next few days, Rebecca tried to find a balance between her work on the investigation and her duties as a mother. She made a point of being home for dinner with Helena, treasuring these moments of normalcy amidst the chaos.
One evening, as Rebecca tucked Helena into bed, her daughter's innocent question caught her off guard.
