Chapter 5

　　Lorena POV 　　I know what I'm going to face when I get home, but I can't let myself be oppressed forever, and this drama has to end. 　　When I got home, I gently opened the door and was greeted by my mother's surprised face. "Why are you back?" 　　"I... I missed you a lot, so I came back to stay for a few days." I fought back my tears of grievance and tried not to let her see anything unusual. 　　"You can't be serious, can you?" I had hardly spoken to my mother when Walter came out of the room. "I won't let you come back so easily." 　　"It's not up to you." I looked at him and looked him straight in the eye, but Walter didn't give me a chance to refute. He reached over and slapped me. I was stunned by the blow. 　　"You're going back to Rodriguez tomorrow and you're not coming back." Walter gave a cold snort and walked away with his hands behind his back. 　　The next day I was sitting on the sofa in the living room on the first floor as usual. I knew Walter would say something nasty when he saw me, but I didn't want to take it any more. Sure enough, the first thing Walter said when he came downstairs was to ask me why I was still here. 　　Before I could answer, there was a sudden knock at the door. 　　"I'm looking for Lorena." A familiar voice rang out and Ivy perked up. "It's him!" 　　"May I ask who you are?" 　　"Seth Rodriguez." 　　Hearing his name, my mother seemed to understand. She turned to the man in the cafeteria and called, "Walter, Mr. Rodriguez is here." Walter seemed startled and flattered on the other hand. He quickly ran to the door, "Mr. Rodriguez, what brings you here, please, please come in." 　　I frowned, disgusted by Walter's appearance. Although he is the Alpha of the tribe, he is behaving very lowly at the moment. 　　"Where's Lorena? I'm looking for her." Seth cut to the chase. "You call her out." 　　My mother hurriedly waved to me, while Walter continued to look at Seth with a flattering look on his face, and Seth was clearly annoyed. I rubbed my eyes and yawned again before walking slowly up to him. 　　Before I could speak, Walter angrily scolded, "I knew you had slipped back by yourself. Come here and apologize to Mr. Rodriguez." 　　I looked at Seth in silence, and he looked at me, but he didn't say anything. 　　"I won't go."I shook my head decisively. "I don't want to be ashamed." 　　Then I continued to sit back in the sofa without changing my face, "I feel comfortable living home." Seth followed me into the room and sat down on the other couch. He seemed to be observing the situation and was in no hurry to speak. 　　"Don't be angry, Mr. Rodriguez. I'll talk to her right away." Walter was impatient and dragged me rudely into the next guest room. 　　As soon as he entered the room, he pulled away his flattering face and looked at me, his eyes almost bleeding. 　　"If you don't go back with him, it won't end well for your mother." Walter calmed down a little and looked me straight in the eye. 　　"What? " I was a little confused. 　　"I will not allow you to ruin my pack's future."Walter said in a sombre tone. 　　I was stunned. He looked crazy right now. I have no doubt that he will do such crazy things. "Yes, he's serious." Ivy silently agreed with my idea. 　　I looked down and took a deep breath, turned, opened the door, and walked to Seth on the couch. "Come on, I'll come with you." 　　He raised his eyebrows and looked at Walter behind me with a meaningful expression. But without saying anything more, he just held out his hand to me, as if to signal me to hold on. 　　I looked up at Seth, and there was something comforting in his eyes. I ignored his advances. Just walked out. 　　After the car started, I sat in the passenger seat and said nothing, my head slightly leaned against the window, and for a moment I felt that my life had become confused. 　　"Well, we don't need to be like this." Seth cleared his throat. 　　"What?" I feel a little confused. 　　Seth sighed as the car stopped at a red light, pressing his left hand between his eyebrows. "I see you're having a bad time in your own pack, I don't know the exact reason, but I think it has something to do with your father." 　　"so?" 　　Seth tightened the wheel and took several deep breaths. "Lorena, I know how much your mother meant to you. Your father... It's hard to say he was a good father, and maybe even his abilities as Alpha are questionable." 　　I smiled, then turned to look out the window and didn't take his words. 　　"I can help you. You can help me heal, and my pack can be your temporary shelter." 　　Before I could answer, the car stopped suddenly and we were at Seth's pack house. "Don't feel rushed to answer me ." Seth opened the car door for me. 　　We entered the pack house where Alpha King and Luna were waiting for us, and they seemed delighted to see us. This moment of perfect family atmosphere somehow gave me the idea to stay here. I looked back at Seth, who mindlink whispering to me, "Rest assured, things will be different." 　　Now King came towards me. He was a white-haired, stately old man, but I could see no contempt or other emotion in his face. He just calmly walked up to me and said in a slightly deeper voice, "Lorena, I want you to stay with Seth. It's for the best for both of you." 　　“King......” I tried to say something, but he raised his hand and cut me off. 　　"It's not just good for Seth, it's good for you too. Your strength will also increase.The mate link between you will help Seth recover as quickly as possible, and our pack need him to pull himself together." 　　As I tried to say something else, King turned to leave. "All in all, Lorena, you don't have many options, do you? Think about it. "
