Chapter 196
The mildly cold wind at night was blowing in through the wide-open window in the room. Coupled with the large apartment, it added a sense of emptiness and loneliness. Zachary's cool voice sounded over the phone as he said, "Have an early night."
Right outside the window, I could see the vibrant neon lights of the city. I rested my long fingers against the glass and stared at the numerous cars on the road downstairs in silence. "Zachary, I want to see you," I insisted.
He remained quiet and I said obstinately, "Zachary, I said I really want to see you."
He replied calmly, "All right, I will get Luke to pick you up."
He had finally relented. After hanging up, Luke called me a while later. He gushed happily, "My precious, Second Brother asked me to pick you up and take you to his place."
I asked anxiously, "Are we going to the Schick's home?"
"Naturally, that's a given. It must be the Schick's home," Luke replied.
