Striding forward, he wrapped his arm around my shoulder. We walked out of the house. Luke opened the back seat door.        My heart was slamming against my ribcage. Fear was tightening my chest. I got in the car. He wasn't holding me. I peered down at my hands. They were shivering. Luke closed the door.        Everything hovered over my head. My lower lip began to shake. "No one can harm you. If she wouldn't be your mother..." Jasper's jaw locked. He blinked, reining in to control his wolf. He slid in next to me.        I curled my arms around him. "I'm sorry."       "It's not your fault." He patted my back.        My gaze turned to Jace as he settled behind the wheel. The blood was still fresh there. He took out the white handkerchief and wiped it on his cheek. "I'm not hurt, Ember. My healing power is strong." He said, an encouraging smile turned up the corners of his mouth as he sniveled his neck to gaze at me.         "Are you certain? Your cheek was bleeding." I was scared.
