In the car, Nicole did not take the front passenger seat. She made an excuse about feeling uncomfortable up front and settled into the back with Jacob. Surprisingly, Griffin managed to contain his anger throughout the drive as he drove them to the restaurant. At the restaurant, Griffin naturally took the seat next to Nicole while Jacob sat across from her. At first glance, it was unclear which of them was a couple. When the waitress approached, she looked slightly uncomfortable. "Mr. Sullivan, here's the menu," she said, placing it in front of Griffin with an awkward smile. Griffin barely glanced at it before saying, "Just bring what I ordered when I made the reservation." After the waitress left, Griffin turned to Nicole and said to Jacob in a cold, low voice, "Jacob, you seem to have a lot of free time today, following us around. Don't you have pressing matters at the company?" Jacob did not seem bothered by the jab. He raised an eyebrow and looked at Nicole. "You don't need to
