Chapter 628 Going to Eastern Ollibery
The previously vibrant roses in full bloom had all been cleared out, replaced by various rare varieties of roses. It seemed Lucas had gathered all the rose varieties from Mandala.
"Do you like it?" He stood behind me, his voice gentle and seductive, tinged with anticipation.
I nodded, not saying anything insincere, and genuinely replied, "These are the grandest roses I've ever seen."
With that said, I could not help but turn to look at him and ask, "Didn't you say roses were tacky, which is why you proposed with gardenias? So why have you filled the courtyard with so many roses?"
He looked at me and smiled, "The gardenias symbolize eternal love, while roses convey 'I love you'. Yvette, rather than saying I love you, I'd rather tell you that I want to walk a long road with you and be together for a long time."
I smiled and gestured toward the roses that filled the courtyard. "Then why didn't you replace all these roses with gardenias? Wouldn't that better express your feelings?"
