CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY FIVE: FEELING LOST
The morning sun rose over the horizon, casting its gentle glow through the curtains of Jonathan and Anna's bedroom. But despite the warmth of the light filtering into the room, there was an eerie stillness that hung heavy in the air, as if the very walls of the house held their breath in anticipation of what was to come.
Jonathan awoke with a start, his heart pounding in his chest as he glanced around the room, searching for any sign of Anna. But the space beside him in bed was empty, the sheets rumpled and cold where she should have been lying. Panic surged through him as he sat up, his mind racing with a thousand frantic thoughts and fears.
"Anna?" he called out, his voice echoing through the silent house. But there was no answer – only the oppressive silence that seemed to press in on him from all sides.
