CHAPTER 67 SAVIOUR’S BICKERING
Minerva’s Pov
We heard a distant, metal clang as we stood around the open maintenance hole, looking down at the prisoners.
In an instant, I turned off my torchlight, and we turned towards the clearing, where a few cabins stood, yellow light streaking out of the windows into the clearing.
Waiting with bated breath and hearing no other sound, we were about to assume it was all over.
When we saw a light beam sweep through the surroundings, it didn't meet us, and footsteps followed.
I glanced at Dominic as he was looking at one of the soldiers with us, a gleam in his eye, and I recognised the look.
He always wore that look whenever he was up to mischief.
Meeting my gaze, he hushed.
“We need to hide, but we also need to give this prisoner some form of assurance. Dave, jump in.”
He did a double-take, then approached the maintenance hole when I stopped.
"I'll jump in.
The men can stay with you.
They'll be able to trust me to reconnect with them."
Dominic shook his head vigoro
