Chapter 115: No Wine for the Expectant
Giselle’s heart seized in panic. It had been ages since she had taken her medication, and she hadn’t been careful otherwise.
Most troubling was the fact that her period was conspicuously late...
“How could I not know if I were pregnant? I don’t need a test.”
As she spun on her heel to return to the treehouse, her wrist was captured in a firm grip.
Henry looked straight at the doctor and demanded, “Blood or urine?”
“Whichever Mrs. Jefferson prefers,” the doctor replied, with utmost consideration.
Giselle attempted to decline, but one glance at Henry’s unyielding expression told her that today’s confrontation was inevitable.
“Urine then.”
She retreated to the RV’s bathroom shortly thereafter. Outside, the doctor and Henry awaited her result while she nervously eyed the pregnancy test perched on her lap.
Recently, her heightened sensitivity to smells had her worried. If positive, Henry’s domineering stance would surely pull her off the show.
