Chapter 91: The Investment
Henry Jefferson snapped his book shut with a dismissive air. “I can give her anything she wants—what could possibly be the power of a book?”
Mark shook his head in dismay at his friend’s stubbornness, letting out a deep sigh. It seemed Henry had a long and winding road ahead in his quest to win back his wife’s heart.
Finding no words that could sway a man set in his ways, Mark patted Henry’s shoulder heavily and left the office without another word.
As the door clicked shut, Henry, half in doubt, picked up the book once again.
It was dense with theories that starkly contrasted his previous actions.
He closed the book, gazing out the window in deep thought. Finally, he picked up the book again, clicked open a pen, and began to read each line with earnest attention.
Though skeptical of its utility, he knew Giselle detested his earlier methods.
Maybe Mark was onto something—perhaps it was time he learned how to truly love someone.
“Support her decisions,” the book advised.
