Chapter 11 Time with Cheryl And Duke
Moonlight streamed into Sherman's room through tall floor-to-ceiling windows. He stood alone, gazing up at the moon, gently swirling the red wine in his glass. An inexplicable boredom crept inside him, wondering why he had stopped at that time.
It was just the tears of a poor woman, but it was this ordinary woman who made him break his principles for the first time and choose to postpone things.
As an Alpha, Sherman had never changed his ways for anyone. This was the first time he made an exception. He downed his wine, removed his silk shirt, and fell onto the bed.
He gazed wide-eyed at the delicate chandelier overhead, but Elaine's pretty face appeared in his mind, as well as her pearly tears.
He couldn't help but wonder, "Why was she crying?" After all, many women were willing to give themselves to him.
For Sherman, tears were always the weapons of the weak, a manifestation of incompetence. As the king of success and failure, he didn't believe in or sympathize with tears.
