It became evident that more than one person was present in the bedroom, and I suspected there were two occupants inside. I recognized the voices immediately; one belonged to Aaron, and the other to Julie. They were the subjects of today's headlines, yet here they were, inside our bedroom. I struggled to find words to describe what I was feeling. My first instinct was to escape, to put as much distance between myself and the villa as possible. Others might perceive me as a coward, but in truth, I felt powerless. Even if I confronted Aaron about the inappropriate situation of having Julie in our room, he would likely dismiss me.
