Chapter 10

"Don't try to seduce my brother, a hybrid like you doesn't deserve to be the mate of an Alpha, you're nothing compared to us," Ember's words dripped with venom as she warned me. Her words unleashed my anger inside me. I didn't want to be mates with Aamon either! This was something something the moon goddess forced onto me and here was his stupid sister threatening me all for nothing. "I don't want to be his mate either!" I shot back, my voice rising. "But I won't be threatened by you. I don't want anything to do with your brother or your werewolf drama. All I want is to have my peace of mind but your family keeps snatching that away from me." Ember's hazel eyes flashed with anger, they had a scary edge to them, they no longer looked beautiful like they always did, and she took a step closer to me. "You're just a temporary distraction, a plaything for my brother, I swear He will get tired of you soon enough." I stood my ground, refusing to back down. "Tell me something are you jealous!" "Jealous," she scoffed holding her hand to her chest with a look on her face like I had just insulted her. "Yes," I folded my arms making myself look serious. I wasn't ready to back down this time. "Are you jeoulos, you'll lose all his attention to me." "What! You rat!" She tried to reach for my hair just as I reached for hers, I was about to pull those blonde strands plucked one by one out of her head, just then Ryder appeared, a smirk on his face. "Oh, this is rich. Aamon's mate is a nerdy hybrid" His laughter was like a slap in my face, and I felt my anger boil over. What's wrong with being a hybrid? "You're just as bad as she is! You both scumbags," I scolded them both, my voice echoing off the walls. "You're both disgusting. You think you're so much better than everyone but in reality you are a bunch of classless trash." Ember's makeup looked like it wanted to melt, am sure I did hit a nerve or two, her scowling face showed it all and Ryder's smirk grew wider. But I didn't care. I was tired of being bullied and threatened. I was tired of being treated like I was less than them. Ember sneered, "Take those words back before I make you," she screamed in my face, almost spitting in my face. I really did hit a nerve. "I won't," I spat back at her with confidence. "I said take them..." Before she could finish her sentence, Aamon's voice cut through the argument, his tone stern and commanding, he must have used his Alpha to be because I found myself obeying him as well "Enough." I turned around to face him, he had already changed into a plain white white and dark ripped jeans, his hair was still damp from shower, something about seeing him come to my rescue had me blushing from the inside. He strode to us in panther like movements, I watched him as if he was in slow motion, his presence commanding attention from each and everyone of us. He was definitely too sexy for this era. "What is going on here?" Aamon hissed through his teeth, his words filled with venom. His gaze was locked on Ryder, it was as if me and Amber didn't exist. "Ah, Ryder, I see you're still upset about losing to me on the court," Aamon said, a smirk playing on his lips. Ryder's face reddened, but that didn't stop Aamon from continuing, the smug expression never leaving his face. "And dearest sister, stop trying to dictate who I can and can't mate with." He grabbed my hand and kissed the back of it infront of his sister and Ryder as well. This had my cheeks blushing, I pulled my hand away from his. " Whether I reject my mate or not is entirely my decision, not yours." Ember's eyes flashed with anger at her brother but Aamon didn't seem bothered at all. "Here is a penny for your thoughts sis. Ryder Glacier, already found his mate back at college so it will only be best for you to stop pursuing a werewolf who doesn't belong to you. It's kinda of damn is you ask me." "Let's leave from here, cupcake," Aamon grabbed my hand, his grip firm, and led us down the lobby, we left behind a chorus of annoyed sounds but all I could focus on was how nicely his warm big hands felt around mine, they fit perfectly. Having him this close had me feel like I was drowning in his strong scent. Everything about Aamon Blackwood was so alluring for some reason. "Fine, leave then!" Ryder shouted, his voice echoing off the walls. "You're nothing but a coward" Ember's screams grew louder, more shrill. "You'll regret this, Aamon! You'll regret choosing her over your own sister!" Their words were like daggers, but Aamon didn't flinch, didn't hesitate at all. He kept walking, his hand holding mine, until we were out of the school building, into the parking area. He opened the car door for me to get in, I didn't even waste a second entering. Not when there was a possibility of me facing those angry devils, I knew wouldn't survive them without Aamon. They would definitely reap me into pieceshere was no way I could face them wi. He scanned me making sure I was cormfortable before starting the car engine and driving off without saying even a single word to each other. I didn't know where he was taking me to but one think was for sure I wanted to be anywhere but here, I was scared for what his sister and Ryder would do to me after all that had happened inside. * * * I ended up bringing Aamon to my home, I couldn't just leave him outside in the cold without even inviting him in for a cup of tea. That would be rude and also it's the least I can do to thank him for saving my ass back there. My home was a cozy two story house, it was so big that me and my mom had plenty of room we never used. The best part of it was the glass garden outside, it was so beautiful, I had made sure to take care of the plants and flowers myself, watering them every morning and weeding. As we entered, I picked up the phone and dialed my mom's number. "Hey, Mom," I said, trying to sound casual. "What's up?" "Oh, hey sweetie," my mom replied, her voice cheerful. "I'm on a date with that guy I told you about. We're having a great time, and I won't be home tonight." I breathed a sigh of relief, glad I wouldn't have to deal with my mom's questions about Aamon "Okay, Mom, have fun. I'll talk to you tomorrow. I love you." "I love you too sweetheart," she cooed to me through the phone before hanging up. I turned to Aamon, who had already sat himself in one of our couches watching me with interest. "My mom's on a date." Aamon raised an eyebrow. "Good. Means we have the place to ourselves." He sent me a dirty wink, licking his lips staring at me like I was some dessert. I kinda of liked it though. But there was no way I was falling into his trap, I laughed and nodded towards the jersey he had given me. "I'll wash this as soon as possible and return it to you first thing in the morning." I paused as he seemed to have his attention else where, he was looking around my living room at the photos of me and my mom. "So uhh you could just go home and wait till tomorrow." Mischief sparkled in Aamon's eyes as he ignored my request to leave. Instead, he strolled to the stairs climbing up. My heart jumped into panic mode as I hurried to follow him behind trying stop him. "Where do you think you going?" I asked him but the fool ignored me opening the room that was infront of us. Thank God! It was one of the empty ones. He turned to me with a happy smile on his face that made his gorgeous eyes crinkle at the sides, his smile was definitely the best one I had ever seen on a person. "Where is your room?" He asked before walking away to check the other. I was dumbfonded by his question. Why in the world did he want to know where my room was. "Here it is," he turned to me grinning, before his eyes turning back to the opened door, his gaze scanning the room. Thank God! I had cleaned it this morning before I left for school or else I would be totally embarrassed. His gaze kept sweeping across my room until it landed on my desk, where my laptop was. Without asking for even my permission he strode into my room, on instinct I followed him inside to make sure he didn't touch any of my things but it was too late. He had already sat himself on my desk and was now checking through my laptop folders. I couldn't resist slapping my head, who in the whole world is foolish enough to not have a password for their laptop. Believe me, I thought I had no need for it, my mom never checks into my stuff, I have no sibling, so there was never a need. "Ah, why is this one not finished, huh?" He asked his voic teasing. I knew he was talking about the sex scene I had left un completed in my drafts last night. Such an asshole! He's got no respect for people's privacy. I hurried to the desk wanting to shut down my computer from his prying eyes but before I could react, Aamon grabbed my hand and pushed me into my queen sized bed, i hit my back into the mattress, thank God it was soft. The devil didn't stop at that, before I could give a proper reaction, he pounced, pressing me onto the bed. I squealed in surprise, the bastard instead chuckled, his eyes gleaming with some kind of amusement. "Today," he leaned in close to my ear, his breath caressing my skin, sending tingles all over my body. I'll help you create some novel materials," he whispered, his voice low, husky and seductive, it felt my panties wet in a mere second. I pushed at his chest, trying to sit up, but Aamon was too strong. My eyes met his and this felt so very intense. "Let me go, you bastard!" I demanded, trying to sound stern. But Aamon just grinned, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "Oh, no. I'm just getting started." And with that, he began to kiss me, his lips tracing the curves of my neck, sending shivers down my spine. I tried to resist, but Aamon's touch was like magic, it felt like fireworks. As I surrendered to his kiss, I knew I was in trouble. Aamon Backwood was not going to leave until he had gotten what he wanted and what he wanted was me.
