Chapter 9 She Was Not Miss Wheeler
"What are you shouting? Nadine, I have no malice. Come with me. I have something good for you." Joslyn coaxed.
Nadine was deadlocked with him. She clearly saw the people downstairs looking over here. As soon as Kenneth looked up, Loretta held his arm and took him to the front hall.
What kind of place was the Gordon family's residence? How could she meet such a thing?
Just when she thought she couldn't escape, the door behind her was suddenly opened.
"Blaine..."
Joslyn let go of his hands and coughed twice, "Aren't you going to the company? Nadine and I have a casual chat."
"Didn't you chat enough last night?"
Joslyn's eyes widened, his fingers moved in the air, pointing at Blaine and mumbling, "I said it was you."
"What did I do?"
"Humph, Blaine, I finally took a fancy to one, but you upset me?"
Blaine smiled and said sarcastically, "Don't forget that she is Kenneth's girlfriend."
Joslyn seemed to hear some joke and was convulsed with laughter.
It took him a long time to stop laughing.
"Oh, Blaine, you're not drunk early in the morning, are you? Who doesn't know that Kenneth has a great time with Loretta every day. How can he still remember this girlfriend?"
Nadine was rendered speechless.
She had thought that the Gordon family knew about Kenneth and Loretta's relationship, but she didn't expect it to be such a well-known secret.
It was false to say that she was not uncomfortable at all. After all, she really felt that she had met a good man, who respected her everywhere and considered for her like a gentleman.
But how could he have no interest in her at all if he really liked her? He behaved like a gentlemen, but what he had been doing was so dirty.
Joslyn had been abroad for nearly two years, so it could be seen that those two people had been secretly sleeping together for a long time, which was nothing new in the Gordon family.
"Hey, look at my mouth. I should be slapped. Nadine, how about you slap me? Come on, slap me hard." He was about to pull Nadine's hand and slap himself in the face.
But he was pushed away by Blaine, "Joslyn, enough is enough."
Joslyn stared at this younger brother. The Gordon family's industry was all managed by Blaine. Timothy was a useless scholar, while he himself only indulged in dissipation.
In this world, whoever had mastered the capital had the absolute right to speak. It was the same in the Gordon family.
He smiled wryly, "Well, since you have said so, what am I arguing for?"
Just as they turned around, Joslyn suddenly asked, "Blaine, you don't like her, do you?"
Blaine replied coldly, "I am not as low as you."
The door slammed shut.
Nadine patted her chest and breathed a sigh of relief. Finally, she escaped again. The Gordon family was so terrible. As an uncle, Joslyn even wanted to provoke his nephew's girlfriend. How could he do this?
As Nadine raised her eyes, she saw Blaine's eyes. Joslyn didn't behave himself regardless identity, what about Blaine?
What was the difference?
"You have the ability to come in, but you have no ability to deal with. Do you still want to marry into the Gordon family?"
Nadine picked up the water on the table and gulped it down before she said, "I will marry into the Gordon family. Can I marry another one?"
She boldly moved forward, reached out her arms and held his neck, and leaned against his arms like a obedient kitten.
The scene was quiet and ambiguous, which was particularly abrupt in this cold room.
Sure enough, Blaine pulled her arms off and asked in reply, "Who? Joslyn?"
"Mr. Gordon, don't you think you are changing concepts?" It was him who had a relationship with her, and he had repeatedly helped her. But why did he mention Joslyn here?
"Nadine, listen up, I am not a tool for you to retaliate." And he couldn't never be the man who she could rely on.
"So, Mr. Gordon, aren't you interested in me at all?" She asked the question in her heart again.
Basically, she had given up her dignity just to make it clear.
Blaine approached and kissed on her lips without hesitation. After a moment, he said coldly, "What's wrong? Have you fallen in love with me after having sex for several times?"
Nadine had nothing to say for a moment, and her face turned pale.
Women were easy to be emotional, and they might really think they could control men after having sex for a few times. Yet men hated to consider with feelings the most.
Otherwise, how could most of the wealth and resources were in the hands of men?
"I'm sorry. I've gone too far."
Blaine took out his phone and made a call, "Hello, take Miss Wheeler home."
The driver was at the door and respectfully opened the door, "Miss Wheeler, please."
She didn't have time to say goodbye to the Gordon family, or even to her boyfriend, Kenneth before she got into the car arranged by Blaine.
As soon as she went back to the Wheeler family's house, Tricia stood in the living room and stared at her.
"Mom."
"How was last night? Have you slept with Kenneth?"
She always cared about whether Nadine and Kenneth had got laid, and her obsession with this matter was almost abnormal.
"I drank too much, so I went to bed early."
Tricia's face darkened, "What? You failed again? Why are you so useless?"
Nadine sighed, "Mom, if Kenneth just doesn't want to have sex with me, do you think I can still marry into the Gordon family?"
The next moment, a slap fell on Nadine's face.
Tricia's eyes were wide open as she cursed, "Bitch, if it wasn't for my daughter missing, how could you, a country girl, have the chance to marry into the Gordon family?"
Nadine was very upset. If it weren't for the fact that her face was very similar to that of the real Miss Wheeler, she wouldn't have become "Nadine" by mistake.
Tricia walked up to Nadine and reached out to stroke her collar, "What? Are you going to disobey me? Do you have that qualification?"
Nadine really lacked confidence. Her cousin had a serious heart disease. She was still being treated in the best hospital in Yhore, relying on the Wheeler family's resources and medical expenses.
No one in the whole Wheeler family knew her true identity except Tricia.
Maybe others didn't find it, or maybe she and Nadine were so similar that even her father, Nathan Wheeler, didn't find anything wrong.
Yet Tricia knew it the night when Nadine was brought home.
After all, the real "Nadine" was born by Tricia, who knew at a glance what was wrong. That night, Tricia held back her inner unwillingness and pain and gritted her teeth to reach an agreement with Nadine.
The Wheeler family helped her treat her cousin Joann Edgar's illness, while she played Nadine until the real Nadine returned.
Although she and Nadine were just similar in appearance, she worked hard to learn how to be Nadine these two years. Later, she gradually became "Nadine".
From the inside out, even Tricia thought she was the same as the real Nadine.
Even the small mole on the corner of her eyebrow was exactly the same. No one said she was had changed anymore, although she said she forgot a lot after the accident.
Tricia hated her while playing a loving mother in public. After all, the real Nadine had run away in order to escape Wheeler family.
"Nadine, as long as you are obedient, I will not mistreat you." Everyone wanted her to be obedient. But she was a person instead of a plant without thoughts. That was so boring.
Tricia continued, "It seems that Blaine has a good impression on you. How did you communicate last night?"
Nadine didn't know what to say for a while.
