Chapter 124 – Liquid Courage

Cassidy followed Gavin down the long dark tunnel; her heart raced as a feeling of panic traveled through her. As she continued to maneuver through the poorly lit passageway, she kept taking deep, long breaths while pushing her fears aside. This wasn’t about her; this was about being there for Jacob. As they came to a clearing, she noticed Teddy and Raymond standing with their arms crossed and barricading a steel door. Raymond stood there glaring at Cassidy, “I wouldn’t go in there if I were you. It’s not a place for the weak-hearted,” he warned. She met his glare with a lifted brow, “I guess it’s good that I’m not weak then. Let me see Jacob now,” she ordered. Teddy took a step toward her. “You have to understand, that’s not the Jacob you fell for in there right now. He’s not going to pull out of this just because his mate is near him,” he cautioned. Cassidy nodded her head in understanding. “He’s chained to the chair right now; we suggest you keep it that way,” Raymond advised.
