Chapter 334 Are They Scheming to Plump Her Up?
Freya had just completed an experiment, stood up, stretched lazily, and prepared to grind herbs into powder.
This laboratory was solely hers at the moment.
After she left, Ella packed away many of the experimental equipment.
Freya needed the grinder and, after searching carefully, found it placed on the top shelf of the rack.
Unable to reach it, she had to move a stool to stand on.
Climbing up, she still couldn't reach, so she had to tiptoe.
Suddenly, the grinder fell from above.
Freya hurried to catch it, causing the chair to sway.
She hugged the grinder and fell unsteadily to the ground.
She stretched her legs to hook onto the shelf and stabilize her body.
Unexpectedly, the next second she felt like the world was spinning, and she fell into a warm chest.
The familiar scent of mint lingered on the tip of her nose. Her heart trembled and she couldn't help but look up at the person coming.
"Bradley, what are you doing here?"
Freya widened her eyes in disbelief.
"I've been here for a while, but you haven't even spared me a glance," the man smiled, his lips curling.
"I've been busy."
She pouted, still holding onto the grinder, struggling. "Please put me down; I still have tasks to attend to."
"Ella mentioned you haven't eaten; you need to take a break."
His gaze dropped to her. "I've finally managed to put some meat on your bones. I can't let you get thin again after all the effort."
Initially, it was just a casual remark, but then the man's gaze swept over her collarbone.
Freya immediately realized his implication, feeling her face flush crimson.
"You, you, you're being cheeky!"
The man chuckled softly, "How am I being cheeky? Was it when I touched you, or kissed you, or..."
Before he could finish, Freya covered his mouth with her hand, firmly saying, "Stop it."
"Alright, I won't say anything. But you should come out and eat first."
"I'm not hungry."
"Even if you're not hungry, you still need to eat. Shall I feed you?"
Hearing this, Freya's face turned even redder, and her neck flushed.
"I'll eat on my own; just put me down first."
She struggled again.
Bradley placed the grinder on the workbench and then carried her out of the laboratory.
He arranged the food neatly in front of her, then led her to wash her hands and sat down with her.
"As luck would have it, I haven't eaten either. I'll join you."
In the morning, Rosa informed him that she wouldn't return for lunch. He learned from Xavier that she was at the clinic.
So, he hurried over after taking care of matters at Sigelac.
He hadn't expected her to be so engrossed in her work that she hadn't noticed him behind her.
Initially not hungry, the aroma of the food now made Freya's stomach rumble.
Bradley served her, instructing her, "You should never work on an empty stomach from now on. If you get thin from hunger, I'll have Rosa prepare pig's trotters for you at every meal."
Freya: "…"
Eating pig's trotters at every meal? Were they scheming to plump her up?
She recalled the time when she first entered the Royal Garden Mansion and mentioned wanting to eat pig's trotters, and this man actually had Rosa prepare them for every meal.
She believed he was a man of his word.
Lowering her head obediently to eat, she was too hungry and ended up choking a bit as she wolfed down her food.
"Cough, cough!"
Bradley quickly handed her a glass of water upon seeing this.
Standing up behind her, he gently patted her back.
"Feeling better?" he asked softly.
"Much better. I almost choked myself to death."
Pursing her lips, she coughed so violently, tears welled up in her eyes, making Bradley feel heartbroken.
The meal was quickly finished, and Freya hurried to prepare medicine, quickly entering the laboratory again.
Bradley followed her closely, assisting her.
"I still need a few test tubes."
Freya climbed onto a chair to search for something, but as soon as she climbed up, she was lifted high by a pair of large hands.
Looking down, she found herself... sitting on Bradley's shoulder.
Freya exclaimed in surprise.
Her legs dangled in front of the man's eyes, feeling dangerously exposed.
"Put me down. This position is unsafe. What if I fall?"
Bradley was nearly six feet tall, and with her sitting on his shoulder, the combined height was over six and a half feet, making her feel dizzy.
"If this position is unsafe, then how about this?"
He lifted her again, letting her hold onto his neck.
Freya was stunned.
Was it really appropriate for a woman to sit on a man like this?
The crucial point was that she was wearing a skirt today.
With this movement, her skirt was lifted up.
Freya felt extremely embarrassed and shifted uncomfortably, "Honey, please put me down. This isn't right."
"What's wrong with it? I'm supporting you, and it's safer than you climbing up high on your own," Bradley said, his strong hands firmly gripping her legs.
His palms were calloused from frequent gun handling.
The rough calluses brushing against her smooth skin sent shivers down Freya's spine, causing goosebumps all over her body.
"Then take me to aisle one; I need to get a handheld scale."
Enduring her embarrassment, she pointed to the opposite aisle.
Bradley nodded and walked with her to the location.
Their thighs occasionally brushed against each other's faces, making her blush even more.
"Is this the one?"
He asked.
Freya nodded, "Yes."
After saying that, she slightly lifted her body and reached out to grab it.
This posture, viewed from Bradley's perspective...
His Adam's apple couldn't help but slide down.
Freya was about to grab something when she deeply felt the scorching gaze.
Subconsciously, she looked down!
Encountering the man's intense gaze, she immediately frowned and asked, "Bradley, where are you staring?"
Caught off guard, the man let out a resigned sigh and remarked, "Well... the scenery here isn't bad!"
Understanding his implication, Freya blushed deeply, unable to meet his eyes.
This guy, always taking the chance to tease her.
She began to protest, "Please, put me down; I don't want to stay up here anymore."
But in her agitation, her legs brushed against his lips again, causing her immense embarrassment, wishing she could disappear.
Bradley grasped her calf, a smirk forming on his lips, "If you come down, you won't be able to reach the things."
Looking up at the cabinet, Freya clenched her teeth in frustration, "You're constantly teasing me!"
The man chuckled softly, "I'll let you down once you've fetched what you need."
Freya shot him a fierce glare.
After taking the things away, she was surprised to find a booklet on top of the cabinet.
This is the note that Mr. Gunther left for her back then. It records the treatment methods for various difficult and complicated diseases, as well as the preparation process of various prescriptions.
It was just that later during the laboratory rectification, the notes were accidentally lost.
At that time, she almost demolished the entire laboratory, but still could not retrieve the notes.
Unexpectedly, it was on top of the cabinet.
