Chapter 13 Her Pranks
Lola came down from the second floor as Sophie brought Freya to the dining room for lunch.
Lola asked with malice, "Mom and Dad, how is she still alive?" when she saw Freya.
Bruce responded with a fierce glare, sharply rebuking her, "Shut up! How dare you speak ill of your sister!
Sophie felt a sense of unease and swiftly stepped forward, sternly urging, "Lola, please keep your mouth shut and stop talking nonsense."
"Mum, what's going on with you and Dad? Remember how you promised me money if Freya died? But now that she's still with us, where will our money come from?"
Lola was concerned because all she wanted was the money.
Hearing her words, Sophie lowered her voice and said, "It seems that she's probably going to keep on living. Don't put your hopes on receiving that huge settlement, my dear. Freya will be spending the night here, and it's in your best interest to behave and not provoke her.
Freya sat at the dinner table with oil smeared on her lips on purpose. She eavesdropped on their conversation but pretended not to understand by pretending to be a fool.
Everyone believed her because she was so skilled at it.
"Lola, the meat is so delicious! Would you like some?" Freya intentionally picked up a fattier piece of meat, which she knew Lola disliked the most, and waved it in front of her.
"Ugh! It's so disgusting!" Lola shot her a hostile look.
"Why don't Freya just die? I wouldn't have to worry about not getting money for my wedding if she died. But why are my parents compelling me to appease her?" Lola thought with seething rage.
Freya, eating with great satisfaction, blinked her eyes and announced, "I'm tired! I need to get some sleep. "
She then approached Lola.
Freya pretended she was innocent as she wiped her grubby hands on her sister's dress and then exclaimed, "My hands are clean now."
Lola froze for a moment.
"Freya, you idiot!" Lola yelled angrily as soon as she realized what Freya had done. "You've ruined my dress."
Bruce responded angrily when he overheard Lola's outburst, "It's just a damn dress, Lola! Stop complaining!"
"Dad, Freya did it on purpose!" Lola stood up in annoyance.
Bruce impatiently retorted, "She's just a dummy. Why bother with her?"
Freya chuckled upon hearing this. She was a fool, after all, so it didn't matter if she acted inappropriately.
She confidently asserted that she made the decision to stay in Lola's room because it smelled pleasant.
Considering that they might still need to rely on Freya for financial support in the future, Bruce readily agreed, "Alright, from now on, Freya can live in Lola's room."
Lola cried out in frustration, "Dad, you can't do that! I object!"
"You have to agree. After all, that room originally belonged to Freya," Bruce firmly said.
Lola was filled with a sense of injustice, and tears welled up in her eyes. As the best room in the house, her room was situated to receive ideal ventilation from both the south and the north. She had fought hard against Freya in the past to claim this room as her own.
Now, everyone seemed to be bending over backward to please Freya, even going as far as giving up their own rooms for her.
Lola just couldn't bring herself to accept it.
After Freya finished speaking, she absentmindedly pinched her chin, and her eyes landed on the ring Sophie was wearing.
"Aunt Sophie, your ring is so beautiful. I'd like one, too."
Sophie was unable to part with the million-dollar limited edition ring that she begged Bruce to buy for her.
However, in an attempt to please Freya, she reluctantly relented and handed it over to her.
Sophie believed that Freya would naturally return it once she grew bored of playing with the ring. However, to her disappointment, Freya had no intention of giving it back.
Instead, Freya picked up the ring and started to play with it, biting it and rubbing it against the ground, mumbling, "The stone is so hard! Freya can't take it off."
The once brilliantly sparkling diamond now bore numerous scratches.
Even though it broke Sophie's heart, she had to tell Freya, "Freya, the ring looks better when you worn it. Please don't damage it."
Freya seemed to understand Sophie's words, as evidenced by her blank smile, and she put down the ring.
However, as Freya caught sight of Sophie's pained expression, a sense of immense satisfaction filled her.
After teasing both Sophie and Lola, Freya yawned and made her way upstairs. She planned to take a nap in her room and hatch a plan for a sneaky adventure later in the afternoon.
As Lola saw the foolish expression on Freya's face, anger surged within her.
With her dress dirtied and her room taken away, Lola was determined to teach that idiot Freya a lesson when their dad wasn't around to interfere.
Freya could sense Lola's evil gaze and a slight smirk appeared on her face.
"She wants to teach me a lesson, huh? Let's see who will be the one crying later!" she thought.
Lola followed Freya up the stairs and into her room under the guise of going to change clothes.
Closing the door behind her, Lola crossed her arms and felt her anger building up inside.
While her parents seemed to be bending over backward to please that idiot, Freya, Lola was very reluctant to do so.
It was in her nature to be like this. She had always snatched things from Freya, subjected her to humiliation, and even resorted to physical violence in the past.
After all these years, Lola's true nature had stayed the same.
"You idiot! You have no right to occupy my room or ruin my dress! Let's see how I'll discipline you." When Lola entered, she grabbed Freya by the hair while cursing her.
Freya had only planned on taking a nap, but when Lola showed up intending to cause trouble, she didn't mind beating the living daylights out of her.
She spent so much time in the countryside that she not only became adept at playing dumb but also at self-defense. She knew just one move was enough to deal with someone like Lola.
However, Freya had no intentions of stopping there. She strategically targeted hidden areas on Lola's body, inflicting immense pain without leaving visible marks.
Soon, Lola's screams could be heard from the bedroom.
Soon, Lola's screams echoed throughout the bedroom, catching the attention of Bruce and Sophie, who were dining downstairs. Alarmed, they quickly rushed upstairs and pushed open the door, only to find the two girls lying on the ground.
Bruce angrily questioned, "What the heck is going on with you two?"
"Daddy! Freya hit me! It hurts so much!" Lola cried, tears streaming down her face.
Bruce sternly asked Freya, "Freya, why did you hit your sister again?"
Freya feigned innocence and replied, "I didn't do anything! It was Lola who grabbed my hair! It hurts so much!" She rubbed her cheeks, causing them to turn red.
Lola was surprised when she heard Freya's lie. Fuming with anger, she protested, "She's the one who attacked me, for God's sake! I'm in pain from head to toe. I'm sure I have bruises on me!" Lola pointed to her abdomen.
Lola happened to be wearing a crop top that day, but her injuries were concealed beneath her clothing.
Pale-faced, Bruce glanced at Lola and sternly said, "Lola, do you think I'm blind? Look at what you've done to Freya! How am I supposed to explain this to the Austins if they come to pick her up later?"
Lola froze in disbelief, unable to comprehend why her father was siding with Freya. She was the one who was hurt, yet Bruce accused her of attacking Freya.
