Chapter 33 - A secret revealed

Jack's eyes fluttered open, and he was met with the bright lights of the hospital room. He groggily lifted his hand to his head, feeling a sense of lightness that he hadn't experienced in a long time. "Good morning, handsome," a cheerful voice said, as a nurse bustled into the room. "How are you feeling today?" Jack's eyes focused on the nurse, and he couldn't help but flirt. "I'm feeling much better now that you're here," he said, flashing her a charming smile. The nurse laughed and rolled her eyes good-naturedly. "Well, I'm glad to hear that. But let's take a look at those bandages, shall we?" As she began to gently remove the bandages, Jack winced slightly, but his eyes never left hers. "So, what's your name, beautiful?" he asked, trying to distract himself from the discomfort.
