Chapter 1-The seemingly fated encounter.
ALASKA, NORTH AMERICA
The moon struggled to escape from behind the clouds, its silver glow visible from behind the dark veil, casting an eerie light over the town of Alaska.
The streets were bustling with children in various costumes, running from door to door, as they enthusiastically celebrated Halloween, a night when tradition dictated dressing up in favorite disguises and going trick-or-treating.
"Trick or treat!" The first child screamed with a smile that didn't hide her missing front tooth.
"Well, aren't you a scary pirate. Here's some candy for you."
"Thank you!" Another child who hid behind appreciated."I'm a magical fairy. Trick or treat!"
"Oh, how enchanting! Take some treats, little fairy." The person said admiring their costumes and smile that reminded her of the joy of Halloween.
As the kids went trick-or-treating, the adults gathered at spots around town to enjoy the evening.
The "town bar" was a favorite spot, where almost everyone went to grab a drink and catch up with friends. It was especially popular during holidays and celebrations, with discounts for regulars and fun events to keep people entertained. From live music to trivia nights, the town bar always had something going on. it was the perfect place to relax and unwind after a long day. So while the kids were out collecting candy, the adults were enjoying their own treats at the town bar.
As the night wore on, the town bar started to fill up with more and more people.
The bartender, a friendly woman named Sarah, was busy pouring drinks and laughing with the regulars.
The music was playing, and a few people were even dancing in the corner. Outside, the kids were still trick-or-treating, their costumes and laughter visible through the bar's windows.
Suddenly, a group of people burst into the bar, dressed in elaborate costumes and carrying a giant pumpkin.
"Well, we're here!!" The leader announced as they made their way in.
They were the town's infamous "Pumpkin Crew," known for their outrageous pranks and antics. They made their way to the bar, pumpkin in tow, and ordered.
"Free drinks for everyone!!"
The party was in full swing now, with the Pumpkin Crew leading the charge. They started playing music, dancing on tables, and even doing a few magic tricks. The adults were having the time of their lives, and the kids were thrilled to be a part of it all.
As the night wore on, the town bar became the epicenter of the Halloween celebration.
With a warm smile, a young man approached the bar and requested,
"May I have a drink. Something mild, please?"
The bartender's face lit up with a friendly grin as he expertly mixed a drink.
"Well, well, well! Look who's joining the party, Jack! You're looking festive tonight!"
The bartender's enthusiasm was palpable as he handed Jack his drink. Jack, a regular at the Town bar, was known for his captivating charm and disarming smile, which had won over many hearts in the small town.
As Jack took his drink, he surveyed the lively scene, his eyes twinkling with amusement.
"Indeed, I wouldn't miss this for the world, Sarah! The music, the laughter, the Pumpkin Crew's antics... it's a night to remember!" He raised his glass in a silent toast, his smile inclusive, drawing others into the celebration.
Just then, a petite woman with curly brown hair and a bright smile approached him, her eyes sparkling with mischief.
"Jack, darling! I see you're already in the spirit! Care to dance with me and show off your famous moves?" She playfully nudged him, her voice husky and inviting.
Emily, Jack's friend he had made at the bar, was always lively and itching to cause mischief.
Jack's face lit up, and he offered his arm, saying, "Ah, Emily, you know I can't resist a beautiful woman or a good dance! Let's show them how it's done!"
As Jack and Emily hit the dance floor, their energy was infectious. They moved in perfect sync, their graceful steps and spins mesmerizing the crowd. The spotlight seemed to shift to them, drawing in the attention of everyone around. The onlookers cheered, chanted, and screamed, urging them on.
Jack, caught up in the moment, shouted, "Come on, everyone! Don't be shy! Join the party! It's a night to remember!"
His enthusiasm was contagious, and soon the dance floor was flooded with people dancing joyfully, laughing, and waving their cups of wine and drinks in the air.
The room was electric, pulsing with the rhythm of music and the joy of celebration.
As the night wore on, Jack's energy began to wane, his dancing shoes worn out from the non-stop celebration. He made his way back to the bar, where Sarah greeted him with a warm smile.
"I kept your drink safe for you, Jack," she said, handing him a cup of wine. Jack's eyes crinkled at the corners as he winked at her.
"You're one of the reasons I love this place, Sarah." Sarah's smile broadened, and she blew him a kiss before turning to attend to other patrons.
Just then, a soft, melodious voice spoke up from beside him.
"You're quite the dancer, Jack." The voice was like music, and Jack's head turned instinctively to locate its source.
Beside him sat a mysterious figure, shrouded in a coat with a hoodie that obscured their face. Jack's cheeks flushed slightly as he replied.
"Ah, I'm not that skilled, actually. Emily was the one leading the way; I just followed her lead." His smile faltered for a moment, revealing a hint of bashfulness.
"How did you know my name?" Jack asked, his eyes narrowing slightly in surprise and a hint of wariness as he turned to face the enigmatic stranger beside him. "We haven't met before, have we?" he added, his tone tinged with skepticism.
The mysterious figure responded calmly, "The bartender and others here have referred to you as Jack, so I assumed it was your name." Her voice was smooth and even, without any hint of malice but Jack's curiosity was still piqued.
"Ha! Yeah, I guess you're right." Jack said with a chuckle, scratching the back of his head and looking slightly sheepish. "I didn't think of it that way, but now that you mention it, you make a pretty good point." His embarrassment was evident in his playful gesture and the hint of a blush rising to his cheeks.
"The energy here is electric! I'm loving it," the voice said, "I've never experienced it during a celebration before, but I can see why it's a hotspot."
Jack nodded in agreement, "Yeah, this place is always popping! It's one of the top bars in town and a prime spot to be during a party. You're in for a treat!"
Jack leaned in, his eyes fixed on the mysterious figure, "Your voice is incredibly captivating. It's like a warm embrace on a cold night."
The figure chuckled, the sound sending a shiver down Jack's spine.
"Thanks, Jack. So, what brings you to this celebration?"
Jack's gaze lingered on the hoodie, wishing he could see the face behind the voice. "Just enjoying the music and the energy. How about you?"
The figure's voice dropped to a whisper, "I'm just here for the fun. And the drinks, of course."
Jack's grin grew wider. "Well, I think we're off to a great start, then."
Jack's curiosity got the better of him.
"Hey, I'm feeling a little left out here. You know I'm Jack, but you haven't told me your name yet. And what's with the hoodie? It's sweltering in here. Are you trying to make a fashion statement or something?"
The figure hesitated, then slowly pulled off the hoodie, revealing a cascade of hair and a shy smile.
"I'm Elsa." she said, her voice barely above a whisper, her eyes locked on Jack's with a hint of nervousness.
Jack's eyes widened in shock as he looked at Elsa. He was amazed by her beauty and couldn't look away. The room seemed to disappear, leaving only the two of them. Jack's mind was filled with wonder and he felt like he was staring at an angel of some sort.
Her eyes!!!
He was drowned in those golden amber depths of her eyes.
