Chapter 65: Mental State in Crisis
The doctor paused after his initial explanation, glancing at Alison before continuing. "In any case of donation, it requires the signature of immediate family to be valid."
Alison squeezed her eyes shut, trying to hold back the tears and rage welling up inside her. Struggling to regain her composure, she asked, "And for a living donation? Does that also require the signature of immediate family?"
The doctor nodded. "Yes, and it also requires the child’s consent."
Alison asked one final question. "Legally, who counts as immediate family? Are grandparents included, or is it just parents?"
The doctor, feeling increasingly puzzled by her line of questioning, gave a professional response. "Only parents are considered immediate family."
Hearing this, Alison’s throat tightened, her eyes brimming with unshed tears. In a voice cold with anger, she muttered, "Doctor, you know that very well, don’t you?"
She was implying that the doctor had known all along and had helped Oliver push a child
