Chapter 32: Confronting Oliver
Alison's expression became increasingly unhinged as she glared at Oliver, her eyes burning with anger that could scorch everything in its path.
"Oliver, I know I've made mistakes, but even criminals have the right to appeal. Yet in your eyes, I don't even deserve that, do I?" she said, her voice trembling with frustration. "How many times do I have to beg for peace? What do I have to do to live a quiet life? What will it take to satisfy you? Do I have to die to atone for all my sins? Yes, I made one mistake, but that doesn't mean my entire life is a mistake!"
Alison’s questions were like sharp arrows, each word filled with pain and fury. But as the last words left her mouth, an overwhelming sense of helplessness washed over her. Deep down, she knew Oliver would never understand her.
