It was fortunate I'd arrived with a driver. It was helpful to Sean, who'd panicked after answering the call from the hospital.
When we arrived at the hospital, the doctor was waiting for Evie's family to sign the resuscitation consent form. Sean's hand trembled as he reached for a pen to sign it. I stopped him.
"What are you doing?" he roared. "Evie's about to—"
I frowned. "You can't sign this."
In my past life, Sean had had a clean record. He'd been renowned for his talent in the public relations field. It was unfortunate that he'd eventually gotten dragged into a lawsuit—someone had accused him of signing some form to take someone's life and get his hands on their money.
In truth, the accusers had only been trying to extort him. At the time, I hadn't paid much attention to the matter. Now that I thought about it, it was probably related to this resuscitation consent form.
