The witch started coughing and she rugged herself up even tighter in her blanket that was draped around her. “How do you know all of this?” I asked. “I was there. I witnessed the curse. And I have been the one to maintain the curse. My hatred has been trapped in this small altar for my whole life. I’ve been waiting for the arrival of the white wolf.” She said. “You were waiting for me to come and break the curse.” I said. And she nodded her head. “I knew that you’d come eventually. I didn’t think it would be this long. But I knew that you would come.” She said. She gradually got up off of the stone wall and she laid down on the ground. I kneeled down beside her and reached out to hold her hand. She looked like she was at peace now. She had delivered the message that she needed to deliver to the right person and her time was up. “It’s alright child. You do what you need to do. I’ve done what I had to do.” She said. “I promise that I will give you a proper burial.” I said. And she smiled
