Chapter 3
Boom!
There was a loud bang as two cars collided. Then a bolt of lightning struck down from the sky, like splitting the dark sky with a flash of light.
Because of the collision, the head of the girl sitting in the back seat of the car hit the front seat and she frowned in pain.
Renea slowly opened her eyes and looked around. For a moment, she didn’t know what was going on…
She remembered that Kailey had thrown her in front of the car, and she died. Then she looked around and found herself sitting in the car.
Was I sitting in the car that took me to heaven? Then why do I still feel pain? She thought to herself.
As Renea was still in confusion, her eyes fell on the woman sitting next to her in thin clothes…and as soon as she saw her, her eyes turned cold. It was Kailey.
Seeing her sitting next to her, Renea's eyes were filled with anger. Everything she had done to her in the past, played in her head like a movie… Renea clenched her fists and was about to strangle her when the driver’s voice fell into her ear…
“Miss Renea, are you alright? Someone just come in front of our car, and I have used the emergency break?”
The driver’s words snapped her back into reality. Hearing his words, Renea paused, because she felt this scene was quite familiar…
Then, Renea looked outside the window and was shocked by the scene in front of her. After all, she never forgot this road. This was the road she took seven years ago to bring back Kailey into the Morris family.
Was I reborn? Did God give me another chance? Renea thought and pinched herself to check. As soon as she did, she felt a pain…
After confirming that she was not dreaming and it was true, Renea turned her head to look at Kaliey and smiled faintly. However, her smile was cold and chilling.\
Even though she wanted to kill her, Renea knew that it was not the right time. Besides, she was not going to give her such an easy death… She will make sure that Kailey will live her life worse than death.
Sensing the cold gaze on her body, Kailey raised her head and looked at Renea. Her eyes were radiating an air of purity and innocence that stirred pity in anyone who saw her.
In her previous life, Renea was deceived by those innocent and pitiful eyes and felt guilty. She naively wanted to make up for it…
However, in this life, she already knows that behind those innocents she was hiding the heart of a snake, which was ready to bite her at any possible moment…
“Renea, do you think Mom and Dad will like me?” Kailey asked nervously.
Her hand between her legs clenched tighter.
“Of course, they will like you. After all you are their real daughter.” Rene said with a smile.
However, looking at Renea's smiling eyes, Kailey felt chill in her heart. She felt like Renea’s smile seemed friendly, yet it exuded a chilling aura.
“Renea, I am not trying to steal Mom and Dad from you by following you back. I just want to know what my biological parents look like. I will be content as long as I can see them.” Kailey said and sobbed. She looked so pitiful that even the driver couldn’t help but sympathize with her.
However, when Renea heard her words, she sneered as she looked at her fair and smooth hands. She lifted her hands and said, “What a delicate hand. It’s look like your foster parents have treated you very well all these years, right?”
Kailey feels panic inside, could it be that Renea has found out the truth and knows that she's not really lost but forced to be out there like this, but for more than a decade her parents and brother have made her life privileged by visiting her every month.
At first she didn't agree with what her parents were doing, but her grandfather ordered them to do it.
Now that Grandpa is dead, she can finally return to the Morris family.
Then Renea should die. But she quickly pulled herself together and answered, “Yes, they are nice to me.”
In her previous life, Renea didn’t pay attention to it, feeling that Kailey’s foster parents’ kindness relieved some of her guilt.
However, how could someone who lived in an impoverished and chaotic place like River Town, have such delicate hands? No matter how well Kailey's foster parents treated her, it was impossible for her not to do any household chores.
However, such smooth hands could only be maintained by someone who had never done any household chores.
Besides, Kailey was also proficient in piano, chess, dancing, and painting, which was not something the impoverished people in the poor town could afford.
What’s more, for the last eighteen years, no one knows about the fact that the child was swapped. However, how come this truth came to light only a month after her grandfather’s death?
Renea still remembers the day Susan brought her to donate blood.
She was sure that it was all part of their scheme to expose her true identity.
After all, how can a daughter who was lost for eighteen years be only found within two weeks of discovering Renea was not their biological daughter?
Thinking of all this now, Renea's lips curled up into a mocking smile. It was look I was a fool in my past life. After all, even though the truth was always in front of my eyes, I chose not to see and close my eyes.
Renea was not mocking Kailey but herself. For seven whole years, she didn’t notice their schemes and jumped into a fire pit dug by them for her.
However, first, she likes to find out what had forced the Morris family into such a compromising situation.
