Chapter 129: Skinny Patience

“I don’t know,” I muttered as I looked away from her. The lights had long been off, but it looked as though the set was still fully operational. The cameras hadn’t been taken down, and neither was the terrifyingly cold air conditioner turned off. “I think I’m going to go,” I said as I stood up.
“You don’t want to stay for coffee? I could tell someone to go get us some Starbucks,” Kassandra offered.
“I don’t want coffee right now. I need action. At least action and some direction,” I said, noticing how her face began to change to one of horror. “Some direction. And mind you, I actually have work to do. I’m not like you.”
I felt a smile bloom on my lips. I always liked to tease her that being an actress wasn’t a real job and that she should get one. Of course, she would always give me the face, as though I had stolen something from her. But it was all fun and games teasing her like that, and I wasn’t going to stop.
“Oh God, you are insufferable,” she said, smacking herself on
