Chapter 6 FOLLOWING HER

AUTHOR POV: Another morning for everyone to get back to their works and start another day in their lives. The same was supposed to happen in the Massimo family when Eleonora Massimo was ordering the maids in the kitchen to prepare her kid's favorite breakfast. While Mr. Massimo was working on his laptop not trying to lag off even on vacations. lea woke up on her own early in the morning and felt quite proud of herself for doing so as well. She wanted to receive praise on this and went straight to her best friend Mia's room. ‘'Mia. Babe are you wake?" she asked but got no response and thought she might be in the restroom and entered her room. ‘'Mia where are you? Mia…" she asked seeing the bathroom empty she thought she went down earlier and decided to go down. ‘'Look who is early today. Go call Mia down as well, dear." Elenora spoke seeing her coming down on stairs. ‘'I thought she was already down," Lea replied confused. ‘'No, she didn't come down yet. Go look in her room. She must be there." Mr. Massimo spoke thinking she must be there. ‘'I looked in her room. She is not there." Lea spoke confused reaching down. ‘'did you check thoroughly?" Mr. Massimo asked getting worried this time. And after looking for her even in the neighborhood and seeing her phone in the house their worry was starting to grow bigger until they heard their doorbell. ‘'Is this house of Mr. Massimo?" a black-suited person asked making Mr. Massimo bewildered but he nodded at the end. ‘'Is she your daughter?" henry asked coming out of his car and opening the door showing Mia covered in his coat. ‘'Yes, she is." Mr. Massimo replied marching towards her and checking on her. ‘'Who are you and why is she with you?" Eleonora asked eyeing him up and down observingly. ‘'I moved to the old castle yesterday. And on my way to the town and found her lying in the woods. I asked a few people and they informed me she lives here." Henry said trying to act innocent and at some point, his words sounded quite reasonable. ‘'Then I will have to thank you for taking her back." Saying this Mr. Massimo carried her back inside. ‘'Mia. Princesses." Eleonora asked taping her face lightly. Seeing her out like this made her heartache. ‘'Nanno (grandma)." She spoke after a few minutes in a low voice making everyone look at her caringly. ‘'Yes, grandmas' life. How are you feeling now? what happened earlier?" Eleonora asked helping her get up. ‘'I went out at night and …" she started speaking when the horror-filled memories came back making her frightened. ‘'Mia, my child. Why did you go out at the night like that?" Eleonora asked scared seeing her granddaughter like this. ‘'I saw a deer. And she was stuck in a trap. I" she wanted to tell everything. But the image of the monster wasn't going out of her mind. ‘'And you what?" Mr. Massimo asked seeing her stop in her word like this. ‘'I saw something big furry. It was scary." She said getting scared. ‘'who told you to go out late at night. Of course, there are predators out at that time." Lea spoke checking her friend to see if she was okay or not. ‘'Maybe I saw it passed out then saw things like that," Mia said thinking it was a nightmare. ‘'You should never go out like this Mia." Mr. Massimo said patting her head softly making the alpha king furious in jealousy. ‘How dare this male creature touches my queen? I don't care if he is her father or not. I will kill him real soon.' He thought staring at them infuriated. ‘'But I can't understand what happened? How I was?" Mia asked confused solving the puzzle of her broken memories. ‘'don't worry. Must have happened because you are new here. I will get you checked with a good doctor." Mr. Massimo spoke worrying about his one and only daughter. ‘'Seeing you regain your conscious. I think I should leave now." henry said not wanting to leave her but he had things that needed to be done. ‘'Who are you?" Mia asked blankly starring at him. her cute facial features made it impossible to think of her alone on his bed starring at him like this when he will claim her again and again. ‘'He found you in the forest and brought you back." Her father replied. ‘'Thank you for bringing me back mister." She said when he was leaving. Her sweet voice wanted him to snatch her back to his castle but he didn't want to scare her like before. ‘'My name is Henry Russo. It's a pleasure to help you." He replied leaving sadly. ‘Soon you will stay with me only. And no one will come between us.' He said to himself getting back in the car and driving back. After getting long lectures from everyone she was finally alone and went to the restroom to get fresh and go down to eat as she was starving. ‘'I can't believe I had such a real nightmare. I don't think I will be ever able to forget it." Mia spoke to herself while her eyes caught the marks on her neck. ‘'that thing. It came near me. It bit me. But there are no teeth marks. Probably mosquito bites. What a fool I am." She said neglecting her memories and deciding to forget about them. ‘'What if it was true? No, no. no monster exists." Mia tried her best to wash away her thoughts. After having her breakfast Mia went back to her room thinking about it. No matter how much she thought of it as a nightmare. But that thing violating touched felt so realistic to her frightening her more and more. ‘'Are you still upset because of it?" lea asked seeing her sitting blankly. ‘'Did I make you all too much worried?" Mia asked feeling guilty about making her family and best friend worried like this. ‘'Yes. We were super worried. Because you are a fool who knows nothing how to take care of herself." Lea spoke lecturing her but trying to be funny to help her forget about everything. ‘'I am sorry," Mia replied taking it seriously as she was already very disturbed by it all. ‘'don't apologize. Things like this happen to everyone. And it's not like you did on purpose. You reminded me of my incident." Lea replied making her feel interested in her speech. ‘'Your incident?" Mia asked curious about her last words. ‘'It was probably the night before my tenth birthday. And getting no attention from mom and dad I wanted to do something to get their time. At that time, I saw a movie where a kid gets lost and their parents look for him getting worried. So, I decided to disappear so they will look for me just like the kids' parents in the movie." Lea spoke laughing inwardly at her stupidity. ‘'And what happened next?" Mia asked interested. ‘'They called police and almost half of the police officers went on the search. And I was not allowed to step into my house without a dozen of caretakers. It was a living nightmare for me." Lea said showing how much she disliked it still. Mia chuckled hearing her but her smile didn't last and lea knew her mood was down. ‘'Let's go out and have fun," Lea said knowing how to pick her mood up. ‘'But where?" Mia asked. But soon got silent by her stare. ‘'don't worry grandma, I will take care of her. You didn't mind if I call you grandma, right?" Lea said after getting inquired by Elenora. ‘'No, you can be anything you want. Take care you two girls and don't get lost." Eleonora replied smiling. Soon both girls got busy visiting every shop and ended up getting a bunch of weird stuff they will probably not going to use later. Lea wanted to post pictures of herself enjoying herself and asked me to take some professional pics of her. ‘'keep your hand back. I don't know why it's so dark on this bright day." Mia spoke not knowing the shadow was on her not on Lea. ‘'I am standing right next to the sun but you still see me in shadow?" Lea asked not able to hold her position stable especially after standing staring in the eyes of the sun. ‘'But," Mia spoke looking beside the camera and found she was in shadow and noticed a person's shadow. She looked behind to find someone staring at her. ‘'Mr. Russo?" Mia asked standing. ‘'I don't disturb you, two ladies, do I?" Henry asked smiling seeing her looking marvelous in her peach pink dress in the sunlight. ‘'No, not at all. What brought you here?" Mia replied smiling softly. ‘'Actually, I wanted to look around. But being new I seem to get no answers. I should have found a local helper." He lied as he was only hereafter getting news about her going out of her house. ‘'You can ask us. In that way, I will be able to pay back your kindness." Mia replied giving her signature smiling. How much he wanted to lock lips to taste her smiling lips. ‘'I will be very thankful then." He said smiling not able to remove his eyes off her. Three of them went to several places until they stopped near a water fountain. ‘'It's still here?" Mia remarked seeing it. ‘'Why say it like that?" henry asked not removing his eyes off her face. ‘'I remember this place. I was five last time I ride a bicycle and fell in the fountain due to this pavement. What a trauma it was?" Mia said looking at it bewildered. While alpha king looked at the pavement angrily as it hurt his queen in past and now it was time for it to be removed for good. ‘'I am hungry. Let's eat something." Lea spoke near a restaurant. While they agreed on doing so. ‘'Why did you decide to buy such an old abandoned castle?" Mia asked not able to hold her curiosity inside. ‘'I have always been a great fan of historic places. So, I found about this abandoned place. And a fund interesting place like this." He said making a powerful story behind it. ‘'I never thought people like you still exist," Lea spoke not able to believe her ears. ‘'It was a great time with you. I hope we will meet soon." Henry spoke smiling at her before leaving. Every time he went away from her, she saw some kind of sadness in his eyes. ‘'He is quite an interesting person, what do you say?" Lea asked going back. ‘'I don't know. He seems a caring gentleman. But still, he feels so scary." Mia spoke confessing her feelings. But before they could go any further. They saw Henry busy with the kids of the town. ‘'Oh my god! Take a picture, Mia." Lea spoke getting impressed by seeing his handsome figure shining bright with a slight smile on his face. ‘'I can't take strangers' pictures just like that," Mia replied controlling her photographing urge. Mia ended up taking his picture when she never acted like this before. He looked back at the two making them feel shy. ‘'DO you want something?" he asked seeing them staring at him ‘'We are sorry for taking your picture without your permission. We will delete it If you don't want us to." Mia told him not able to control herself. ‘'No, I don't mind it at all. I am happy." He said making her blush on is the soft reply. ‘'Then I will keep it. Thank you." Mia replied biting the lower lip feeling shy. ‘'I am always available." He said not blinking at all. ‘'Let me walk you two back home. It's getting dark." He said while they accepted his kind offer. ‘'I keep receiving without giving back. Thank you." Mia replied reaching her house. ‘'You can pay back by dinner if you want to." He said not wanting to leave her. ‘'I am sorry for not thinking about it before. Please come inside." She said cursing herself with harmless words inside her mind for such a big idiot. ‘'So, Mr. henry why did you choose this Castel especially?" Mr. Massimo asked after talking about random things over dinner. ‘'I want to bring life to the castle." He said telling a truth they couldn't understand at that time. He had the best time of his life seeing his love the whole day from this close. But sadly, it was time for him to leave. But he planned to visit again after she goes to sleep like in past nights. ‘'I will meet you again real soon." He said shaking her hand and taking it to his face placing a kiss at the end. Giving her surprise. ‘'No matter what I think. He still seems a little weird. I don't know why?" Mia remarked after he left. ‘'? don't find anything weird in him. and why would he look at you when almost every single woman is crazy for him." lea said thinking he was quite normal.
