As the evening shadows lengthened, the family had moved their celebration to the cozy confines of Abuela's living room. The conversation flowed easily, punctuated by the occasional chuckle or gasp of disbelief.
" I think Isabella deserves an award as an actress," Mateo pointed out. " I mean, those tears just came out of nowhere. I was like, damn! She really crying!"

" I was really nervous," Marisol chimed in. " I think I might have bailed if not for Mama's arms looped through mine, it gave me strength."

" Did you see his face when you made your grand entrance?" Isabella asked, chuckling.
" I saw it," Mateo said. They both laughed, Isabella leaning on Mateo on the sofa.
