In the heart of Abuela's cozy Navarre home, three generations of women gathered around the well-worn, yet comfortable sofa.
Marisol, her mother, and her beloved daughter, Isabella, shared laughter and warmth amidst the enticing aroma of freshly baked pastries.
" Oh, Mama, I'm so glad you two are back, the house was quite empty all by myself," Isabella whined.
Abuela gave her a look. " By yourself? What of Mateo?"
Marisol's ears peaked up at the mention of Mateo, and she turned to Isabella with so much excitement and wonder in her eyes.
" Mateo!" She exclaimed. " Mama has been telling me so much about him. I heard his all grown up now," she gushed. " When can I see him?"
Isabella hesitated, slowly lowering her plate of baked pastries to the table in front of her. " Um, Mama, I'm sure Mateo is busy, especially with all the wine poi..."
" Nonsense," Abuela interjected. " Oh lord, you two must not be speaking to each other. AGAIN!"
