Chapter 26 Misunderstanding the Relationship
It had been so long since Sierra had enjoyed such a carefree barbeque meal. Benson never liked it. The strong smell bothered him, and he thought it wasn't hygienic, so he always avoided it.
She remembered once going to barbeque with Madison, and when Benson picked her up, he frowned as soon as he smelled it on her.
He just drove off without a word, leaving her to take a cab home alone. Plus, he didn't speak to her for three days after that. Ultimately, she gave in and never had barbeque again.
Looking back now, Sierra felt foolish. With every compromise she made for Benson, she lost a little more of herself. She had completely forgotten who she was in that relationship.
"Uncle Theo, thank you so much." She looked up at Theo beside her, her gratitude sincere.
"You've thanked me plenty already. No need to keep saying it." Theo handed her a wet wipe to clean her hands. His voice was deep and magnetic, the kind that could easily captivate anyone.
