Chapter 37

"Samuel, please bring me out of here. I beg you…" Sophia cried in despair as her frail body trembled severely. Samuel cupped her face and forced her to look at him. "With me around, no one can hurt you. If you don't like this place, we'll destroy it." Then, he waved his hand. "Destroy everything." Samuel held Sophia's face and made her watch the excavator flatten the shabby house in a few seconds. After watching all of that, Sophia cried. Everything had ended. Those terrifying days had ended. Sophia never wanted to return to this place. She didn't want to spend the bitter days of being abused by people anymore. "Let it all out. Only then will you forget about it." Samuel hugged Sophia and whispered in her ear, "Soph, when we return to Elderstone, let's get married!" She trembled and looked at him in disbelief. "Really?" Samuel nodded. "Of course. The sooner the better." He knew that his late parents would hope for him to do that because Sophia suffered so much because of him.
