Chapter 25 The Broken Leg

As they rode back home, Nancy and Herman could not shake off their disappointment. They had hoped to learn more about their dad's by visiting their uncle in the hospital. Regrettably, their plans were foiled, and their mother caught them red-handed. Juliana sat between the two kids, observing their expressions and silently wondering who they were so keen to meet at the hospital. Herman, in particular, had raised her suspicions. Why would he visit someone at the hospital? During their time in Shako Town, she had heard about Herman having a gaming buddy, but he was not the type to be so emotionally invested in friendships. If this friend was important to him, he would have told her. Not saying anything indicated that Herman had intended to keep it from her. Juliana took another look at Herman.
