CHAPTER 54: KEEPING SHIRLEY SAVE
The grand hall of Drakon's palace echoed with frantic footsteps and urgent whispers. As Drakon talked to Shirley, a frantic woman rushed between them, forcing Shirley to touch her as the guard made a way to hold the woman away from them.
Annoyed, Drakon stood at the center, his towering presence commanding immediate attention. His stern expression and the ferocity in his eyes made it clear he was not to be questioned.
"Everyone, out!" he roared, his voice loud and clear off the walls. "Now!"
Pack members, young and old, scrambled to obey, casting worried glances over their shoulders. Shirley stood at the edge of the hall, her eyes wide with confusion and fear. Drakon's sudden order had surprised everyone, but none more so than her.
As the last of the wolves exited, Drakon turned his gaze to Shirley. "You stay here," he said, his tone softening but firm. He strode towards her. "I can't let you out of my sight."
