Chapter 108: Maria's Doubts
Maria glared at the deity-like full moon glowing silently outside as if it bore the face of her most hateful person now.
Not interested?
"Fine," she growled silently. She'd attend the ceremony on her own. She didn't need that ox-brain of hulk anyway. Uncle Karl would help her get to the Loller Group's main office and back safely. With him there, she could better handle the pressure of meeting strangers.
A knock sounded at her door.
The doorknob turned once and then again fruitlessly.
The red-haired beauty smirked and flashed a victorious grin at the door knowing exactly who was behind it.
It was a good thing she locked the door right after Sophie left. If she was any later, the hulk would have successfully entered.
"Maria," his deep voice called out.
Maria frowned at the door. "Go away, Sarkon. I am going to sleep now." She added silently, "I am not opening the door, so you are not coming in tonight."
"Open the door, Maria," the gruf
