ANNA
"You're drunk," Mr O'Connor says and I raise my hand, an inch separating my thumb from my index finger.
"A little, and it's your fault," I mutter, slurping on the wine. It is the sweetest thing ever and it burns my throat. "I told you, I don't drink."
He looks like he's trying hard not to laugh at me. "I didn't give you the wine, Mrs. You stole it from that couple." He points at the table opposite ours, with an older man and woman glaring at me.
I bow my head low in apology and I wince when my forehead hits the table. "Ow."
Mr. O'Connor pushes back his shirt sleeve and glances at his watch. His jaw clenches and he looks past me to the transparent doors. "I believe I've been stood up."
"Ya think? We've been waiting three hours." My words are slurred and I yawn widely, tapping my mouth. Resting my head against my hand, I ask, "This your first time getting stood up by a client?"
"It wasn't a client."
I grin. "Your girlfriend?"
His jaw tightens and he glares at me. "You wink
