Chapter Thirty-Four - Chase
Keith sat down beside me and sighed deeply. I hadn’t gone to sleep until well after midnight. What started as a nice night had turned into a night from Hell.
I still couldn’t get the look on Willow’s face out of my head. She’d been so angry. As if all of her problems fell from her fist and into Tiffany’s face.
When she walked into my office that night before, her nose was still crooked from Willow’s fist. The alpha in me was pissed Willow did what she did, but the mate part of me was proud that she did it.
It wasn’t that I didn’t want to hurt her. I did. She caused us a lot of grief all because I wouldn’t sleep with her. When she sat down, I knew I couldn’t allow her to stay. She’d burned too many bridges in a short amount of time.
Now she was on her way to her grandparents’ house in another state. Well away from here. I slid down into my seat and stared at my untouched coffee.
“It’s good that she is gone,” Keith said. “I never liked her anyway.”
