Amia felt frustrated and confused, wondering if Will, the lawyer, might have some issues since he kept bringing up money. All she wanted was to delay the divorce, not ask George for a single penny.
"I have nothing more to say to you. That's it," Amia snapped and ended the call, fuming.
She was making good money on her own now, plenty enough not to care about George's wealth. Their marriage had never been about love, just a way to appease their families. At the time, she had even given George the chance to back out, but he had agreed to marry her without hesitation.
Will, on the other hand, was at his wit's end. He had no choice but to call Steve.
"Mr. Steve, your wife has played me again. She’s now saying she doesn’t want a divorce after all. This is the third time! She claims her grandmother is ill and wants to delay the divorce, but I find that hard to believe."
